Aviation users represent a small fraction of the overall market for GNSS devices,
but their demanding applications continue to advance the state of the art of satellite
navigation technology. Chapter 10 focuses on augmentation systems as the corner-
stone for aviation applications of GNSS. The first half of this chapter discusses
the basic classes of augmentation systems and their applications. The second half
describes quantitative techniques used to analyze augmentation system performance.
